PHARMACEUTICAL company ProStrakan has secured a deal to sell its drug for cancer pain across Germany.
The Galashiels-based firm has announced that Abstral will be launched in the country at the beginning of next year.

The drug – formerly branded as Rapinyl – is a fast-dissolving tablet which is placed under a patient's tongue to manage breakthrough cancer pain.

Chief executive Dr Wilson Totten said: "Our German operation is well advanced in its preparations for launch and we look forward to introducing German oncologists to this important product for cancer patients."

ProStrakan has just received marketing authorisation from the German regulatory authority BfArM for Abstral.
