A CANADIAN man was jailed for ten and a half years yesterday for plotting with a group of British Muslims to bomb buildings and natural gas pipes in the UK.
Momim Khawaja is the first person to be sentenced under Canadian anti-terrorism laws passed after the 9/11 attacks. He was convicted last year of financing and facilitating terrorism.

A Canadian-born Muslim of Pakistani descent, Khawaja was accused of collaborating with a group of Britons of Pakistani descent in a failed 2004 plan to attack London's Ministry of Sound nightclub, a shopping centre and electrical and gas facilities.

Meanwhile, Dutch police arrested seven people suspected of preparing a terrorist attack in Amsterdam yesterday, including a relative of one of the attackers who died in the 2004 bombings in Madrid.

2nd generation muslims living in the west seem to be doing silly things. wrong to sterotype, but they should go back to origin port if they are not happy living with people who gave thenm a fresh start in life.
guys like this need to be held in guantanomo, 24/7 listening to eminem at full volume, where there really is no doubt of their guilt, unlike many there now.

there is away with dealing with "traitors", trial by military court and execution by firing squad, allow them their religion freedoms and assist them on their way to pick up their 77 virgins in paradise.

I find it interesting that many of the Scotsman posters skipped commenting on this article. A pattern of chance? Doubtful.

Actually......yes.

I expect to see their usual comments about the corrupt canadian gov't, or the fact that we are all brainwashed to believe terrorists actually exist, or the often overstated - one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.

This article would hardly change their minds as to which side they are rooting for.

I said "traitors" should be shot! I didn't pick on any specific nationality why are you picking on the British race? if they are British traitors shoot them too!! however they miss out on the virgins bit that reserved for a ethnic minority (British ones too) Muslim, Christian, black or white or anything else they should all be allowed their religious freedoms and then dispatched to paradise.

Is this more politically correct for you?

All of you seem to be on the right track on this one - good, I hope this trend continues.
