A FAILED asylum seeker and her four-year-old son were deported from Scotland yesterday amid concerns over the child's detention at Dungavel.
Fatou Felicite Gaye and her son Arouna were sent to the Ivory Coast at 8:30am from the immigration removal centre in South Lanarkshire. It is understood Ms Gaye had an application rejected in 2005 and has since had five appeals refused.

The Scottish Government has opposed the detention of children at the centre – and underlined its concerns yesterday. The matter was raised at Holyrood by SNP backbencher Christina McKelvie, whose constituency includes Dungavel.
