HEARTS have bolstered their squad further ahead of the new season with the arrival of Polish defender Dawid Kucharski.
The 24-year-old has been recruited from top-tier side Lech Poznan, who finished third last term in the Ekstraklasa and also won the Polish Cup.

The 6ft 2in player becomes the third new arrival of the close season after manager Csaba Laszlo snapped
up Spanish winger Suso Santana. Inverness midfielder Ian Black joined the club after agreeing a contract in January.

Kucharski began his career as a 17-year-old at Amica Wronki, before moving to Lech Poznan in 2006.

Meanwhile, Laszlo has named a squad of 22 for the club's pre-season tour of Germany which begins today.

Jose Goncalves is in the squad after his season-long loan at Nuremburg came to an end. Black and Santana are also in the party along with youngsters Ryan McGowan, Arvydas Novikovas, Craig Thomson and David Templeton for the trip to Barsinghausen, just west of Hannover.

Hearts will play four games, the first coming tomorrow against Goslar SC, followed by a game against Polish club Slask Wroclaw at the Rudolf Kalweit Stadion in Hannover on Wednesday.

They play Hamburg team St Pauli at their Millerntor Stadion on Friday evening. St Pauli currently play in the second tier of the Bundesliga.

Hearts wind up their tour with a game against Alemannia Aachen on Sunday afternoon.

It doesn't say whether this guy was "surplus to requirements like Jesus, or whether a fee was paid for him.

I'm not having a go at Hearts here, it just seems that paying for players is a thing of the past for all SPL clubs, outside of Celtic. Although in their case that fact still isn't enough to get anyone to sign. (just kidding Celtic fans).

Seriously though, this might be a very good thing for Scottish football, as the possible reduction in income from all sources may mean that home grown talent is our only option.

#7 constructive comments from a hibee very welcome at last. As mas Vlad is, at least he has showed a bit more interest in the hearts team than Sir Tom Farmer has for Hibs. If I was worth £130 million I would have no problem writing off £10-20 million in making Hearts genuine challengers to the old firm for a few seasons. I would question how much of a Hibs supporter there is in Sir Tom.

#7 Let me remind you that Benji scored 2 goals that day.
And what's the Zemmama comment about? Keeping to football for the moment do you see the return of the 2 Morrocan internationalists as a benefit or not? A bit like the return of the "Portuguese U21 internationalist" surely?

Not really a signing we can say much about until we see him playing....I wonder if like Suso, has Csaba seen this guy in the flesh or a couple of times on DVD?

Could turn out to be a great signing, could turn out to be murder.

But, in Csaba I trust!!

If/when he goes there are two options among many others worth mentioning.
Do we keep giving Obua the opportunity to prove himself .....how long can we make allowances for him ?So far the guy is hopeless.
Or check out Rudi who is looking for a club ?
(Yes-I know that cannot happen as he and Vlad had a major fall out)but a back on form Skacel would have me doing cartwheels. As I said - NO chance - but if Vlad ever wanted folk to think that he was a "big" man - to put aside differences with RS would suggest VR was partially above the petted/vindictive boss that some people think he is (I'm not getting into that argumant as both sides could be debated)

i actually quite like obua

he has a great first touch and is good in the air too granted he hangs on to the ball for too long at times but i think he will come good this season.

i thought there was more chance of ph comming back than rudi, i also thought he did very little after his goal crazy start.

Ah, so it's becuase he's on the wind up that he's tedious? ok.

So, i'm guessing that it's ok for hibs fans to come on here on the wind up is it and be similarly tedious?

Or are you just a complete hypocrite?

Because lets face it, very seldom does a fan of HFC come on here with anything constructive to discuss or without trotting out the same old lines of arguement as i mention above. Which, ironically, are probably THE most tedious and worn out arguements or repostes on here.

#25 Hibs are a shambles? In dire straits?
I'm kicking myself for biting but I doubt even the most rampant Yam would describe Hibs as a shambles.
Livi are a shambles (administration beckons), possiby Motherwell (dothey have 12 full-time players left?).
Hibs often under-achieve, that is true. One can question their purchasing policy. One can argue about the priority of putting bricks and mortar ahead of players' salaries. But a shambles we ain't.
The only thing shambolic on view here is your logic of comparing two meaningless pre-season friendlies against the same team to then draw some strange conclusions.

never have i heard such sensible comments from a hibs fan as thepatmcginley.

for once a hibee not making up "tick tock" "world cup stars" drivel that hearts fans couldnt give a flying f*** about but actually looking at the issues that his club have!!

hibs fans are on here accusing hearts fans of "heads in the sand" and pointing out problems we already know about. then pull out "champs league" quotes that the majority of hearts fans took with a pinch of salt but when a proclaimed hibs fan posts points on hibs problems he is on the wind-up and cant be a hibs fan...

every point he made is correct - we have a scottish cup win, a gubbing of hibs in an sc semi, a 5-1 (which i remember afterwords a hibbie friend saying to me "its not as good as 6-2") - shows the mentality there!

while hibs have their own traing facilities and a nice looking balance sheet.....

#35 pat - not "gloating" at all. just pointing out facts as you have done.

agree with everything you said. you seem to be getting pelters from other hibs fans - and to be honest "falling" for your patter as Dood puts it has nothing to do with it. i dont care if your really a hibs fan or who you support - your not saying anything that isnt true.

all of a sudden football has become about debt and equity and shares etc - not for me - i dont give a f&&k who runs hearts, where he's from or if he can do the tango or not.

alll i care about is having a "reasonably" successful team - and we have had snippets of success over the last 20 years - and alot more highs than hibs have.

the "greatest games" section of this paper only serves to highlight that fact.

I see a few Hibs fans are bemoaning there sides lack of ambition after attempting to slag of Hearts, this was amusing to an extent but now pretty boring. The Hobs fans are begining to realise that they could in fact be left further behind as they dont seem to be progressng,i personaly think it sucks its about time the Hibs fans protested in public an not on EEN Forums regarding the running fo there club an funding of there side.

Personaly i love the banter between the supports but i would never realy want them to suffer greatly as then we would miss out on derby football.

On the Hearts im starting to get excited about the future hopefully we can build up a side for the next 3 seasons that can bring in silwerware.

Cheers

A Jambo

Moscow offered £2m for Zaliukas, so he can't be that bad! I agree he gets sent off far too much - but he's still got decent sell-on value!

Goncalves was a good prospect, but he has a lot to prove that he's not just anothe " Carlos kickaball"

Our defence has been our strong point all through the Romanov era and I hope Csaba gets the right blend as it's obviously very important!

McGowan or Thompson might emerge this season as the new Berra - hope so anyway.

Wether ThePatMcGinley Stalkhome is on the wind up reading what he says its truth and thats a good start for Hibs fans, i see nothing wrong with honesty especialy as they have money to spend. Its frustrating when you want your club to get in some players who can lift the side and win more matches,a fan has the right to expose there clubs weaknesses especialy when they see there rivals going through the wringer and still getting a slice of the success.

#42 Indicates a high turnover of players in only 3 years - we hope the turbulent days at the beginning of the Romanov era are behind us and we can only encourage every player at the club!

Csaba seems to have made quite a lot of of not that much in his first season as Hearts manager, so we can all be quietly confident for next season without getting too carried away!

I sense the relationship between Csaba N VR is a good they wont agree on everything but who does, also Csaba has been there a full season an basicaly had control. I dont want to forget Werner who has been a revalation in the Academy and all sides have found a good level of play.As far as Driver goes he always has the right words regarding his future, as he knows he is still on a learning curve at Hearts. His potential is great if he stays for a season and excells himself with a successfull Hearts side,VR has put a 6M Euro tag on his head in the last few days, this may put off some suiters and the true bidders appear or he stays.

At first I was mildly annoyed at ThePatMcGinlay for the very obvious reason that he wasn't a Hibs Supporter.

But now I've seen Jambo after Jambo fall for it and what was an obvious wind up to me and other Hibbies has been swallowed hook, line and sinker by the Hearts Supporters on here. The really thick ones are those who, once the wind up is pointed out to them, say it doesn't matter because he's telling the truth anyway.

Hilarious!

Incidently, ThePatMcGinlay is a Celtic supporter.

Give me facts saying otherwise wether the guy is Ser Gay Jambo or even Pundip, the facts are Hobs are not showing signs of progressing at the highest level the SPL.It`s ok to have a successfull youth set up etc and well done for that, show me where Hibs are excelling where it matters. You have money and you do have a club who wants success as much as any other club, but El Stachio doesnt invest it on the park he instead invests it on an stand now wnats to invest the money from Big Ears on another stand.I dont get it at all there are way to many empty seats as it is, when are Hobs fans going to realise that there missing out on the drama and the headlines.I want our rivals to be worth beating an not just to say GIRUY.

Also its pretty boring now an repetative all this Hibs nonsesne about Hearts going bust etc,Hearts are going to Europa Cup we may get knocked out in the Final Qaulifing round but we are bringing in players who have played at a good level.I am happy an feel a lot more secure about the future on the park and we can make a bit of money taking part in a new/revamped UEFA Cup.Tell me where 3rd place in SPL and playing in Europe shows failure,or attracting new talent to the club. All the moaners should remember how Hearts have near ended twice in the last 20 odd years, and Hibs should remember thay have had maybe 3 good seasons in that time an also near went under.Nothing is garenteed apart from Hearts having a chance to this season to appear in the world shop window.Hibs are flat on there backsides and a boost of money handed to there new Boss who is a Die hard Hibee would definatley lift them.

End of rant

It's natural to think that the players that play for your' team are better than most. You think it of Hearts as we think it of Hibs.

the reason Hibs Supporters aren't jumping about like you lot is this:

We already have a squad that is easily the best in Scotland outside of the OF. We thought so last season when we were led by an idiot of a Manager. We have the best of last seasons squad AND we have Benji and Zemmama coming back. we also have a proper manager in John Hughes.

Now I know that you won't believe what I've just written but we do.

You are taking it too far in the season Hearts split the OF an won the Scottish cup we lost our so called God Burley when we were 12 games undefeated at the top of SPL,we also had a terrible time with the running of the football side and were still outstanding.

Excuses Excuses is all you lot come up with and then you have the cheek to have a go at Hearts when we are successfull, when is it you are going to connect with what is success and what is down right failure ?

Stop talking rubbish go read the facts suck them in and own them.

#56 I don't think I'm dense or "Meek minded" (Whatever that may mean). Facts mean a great deal to me but as I hinted to you before "Facts" can be very subjective. "Facts" are what the game is all about. Your "Facts". My "Facts". Many facts are actually opinions. And this is what keeps them fresh and worth recounting. Dry statistics get boring very quickly.

I do hope you agree.

PS. Lets keep the personal abuse to a minimum. It weakens your position if it does anything at all.

Why are hobbitss so dumb?

52

Bleeding Heart,

#59 - I think - as you mentioned in #58 - that what you allege is a "fact" is, in reality, "actually opinion".

You are of course, entitled to your opinion but please don't be too surprised when some of us take a step back from an opinion that alleges "Hibs have easily the best squad in the SPL outside of the OF."

It's a very bold statement. That's why people are likely to ask you to substantiate it with some facts & figures.

You may dismiss such things as "dry statistics", but perhaps that's just a cop-out on your part.

You may have noticed a distinct dearth of your fellow Hibbies rushing to endorse your viewpoint. I wonder why that is..?
