Daydream clue to coma recovery

DAYDREAMING may help doctors to identify coma patients who are close to "waking up", research suggests.
Keeping track of a wandering mind may provide a way to discover if a brain-damaged patient is still "in there". During daydreaming, the brain stops being occupied with specific tasks and instead engages the "default network" – a series of connected regions in the cortex, the study at University of Liége in Belgium revealed.
