DEMENTIA patients given antipsychotic drugs have a far higher risk of stroke than other people, regardless of the type of medication they are on, researchers said.
A study published online in the British Medical Journal looking into the various types of drugs available found that dementia patients were 3.5 times more likely to have a stroke while taking any antipsychotic.
