Sunday 27 JanuaryLast day of diary and campaign. Walked to supermarket for Sunday newspapers taking my usual bags with me. I have been asked out for a meal because today is my birthday. Switched off all heating and non essen
tial electricals not back until evening.
Do I get a bonus for all this?
Saturday 26 JanuaryTook car to supermarket and brought a neighbour with me. We both had our own message bags. Received several green coupons for schools. Carried out all other pledges.
Friday 25 JanuaryWalked to supermarket again, got another green coupon for schools. Cooked a big pot of stew and put into five containers for freezing. Used hand-operated carpet sweeper in living room instead of vacuum cleaner.
Thursday 24 JanuaryWalked to supermarket which is just across the street from here. Received some more green coupons for schools. Took car and neighbour to local butcher and we both bought some fresh meat for freezing.
Laundry day, followed usual procedure and dried washing on "clothes horses"
Tuesday 22 JanuaryFish Van called to-day. Bought fresh fish, potatoes, eggs and bakery goods, all local produce.
At last, a reaction to article I put up on notice board. One of the ladies waiting for van said she had read the notice and had been following more or less the same practice as me for some time and was very 'green' aware, and she was amused that she had also doing the same as me, by putting precise amounts of water necessary in kettle!
This was only person to remark on it.The problem in here is that the average age is over 80 and many of them never see the notice board, or indeed are aware of its existence.
Monday 21 JanuaryWalked to supermarket again, remembering to take re-cycled bag this time. Still no response to articles I put up on notice board. Cooked some steak taken from freezer and put into individual dishes and re-froze for future use.Otherwise usual pledges. We would appear to be on 'last lap' now!
Sunday 20 JanuaryBlotted my copybook to-day. Forgot to take long-life bag with me and had to get bag from supermarket. I'll take it back with me tomorrow. Carried out all other pledges. Hope Gordon Brown has made some effect on Chinese and Indian Governments on environmental issues.
Friday 18 JanuaryUsual pledges carried out. Went to local butcher for a variety of meat. Put most of it in deep freeze. Cooked one and a half pounds of Mince and froze in individual single servings for future re-heating in Microwave.
There has not been any reaction, so far, to articles from campaign that I put up on Notice Board last night.
Thursday 17 JanuaryUsual walk to supermarket for small sundries taking my own shopping bag.
This is laundry day; dried washing again on two clothes horses. Put out two large bundles of newspapers and other waste paper. Preparing extracts of my "Go Green Blog" and other extracts of campaign to put up on our Notice Board tonight.

Thursday 10 JanuaryLaundry Day. Walked to supermarket whilst washing was in progress (remembering to take re-cycled bag with me). Too wet to hang washing outside so I used two (old faithful clothe horses)for drying.
