Why, in the furore surrounding the MPs' expenses scandal, is Parliament repeatedly, sneeringly referred to as a 'Gentlemens' Club', when some of the primary offenders, the most shameless, greedy and grasping have been the female of the species?

The intrinsic diabolism of the indigenous white male as the font of all society's ills that characterises the bien-pensant reportage of the likes of Ms. Peev has taken a bit of a pounding following the antics of Smith, Blears, Kirkbride, Moran etc., etc.
