AN Edinburgh headteacher's PA has been named as one of the best in the country.
Sharon Dow, who works at Merchiston Castle School, has been awarded for the work she does for the school, headteacher Andrew Hunter and for the local community.

Ms Dow, 47, from West Calder, has been Mr Hunter's PA for seven years and was honoured for her work at the annual SecEd Headteacher's PA of the Year awards.

The PAs have to be nominated by their headteachers and the finalists are chosen by experts.

Ms Dow said: "I am completely overwhelmed to have received the silver award. The headmaster is extremely appreciative and supportive, and we have developed a good working relationship."
