A CITY college which recently underwent a major revamp has been praised by inspectors.
The HMIE Officials at HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) gave Jewel and Esk strong praise for improving on their 2006 report.

College principal Howard McKenzie said: "The HMIE report is official recognition that we are getting it right.

"The gradings we achieved in the last review were great and it would have been easy to adopt a complacent attitude to this.

"But Jewel and Esk is all about continual improvement.

"The staff at Jewel and Esk are committed, enthusiastic and expert in their individual field. Combine this with our new buildings and you have a clear recipe for success."
