A WELCOME dinner for some of the leading figures in tourism is to be held at Edinburgh Castle.
Linda Fabiani MSP will host the dinner for the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA).

Historic Scotland, which looks after Edinburgh Castle, invited ALVA to hold its spring council meeting at Scotland's leading visitor attraction.

ALVA is a trade grouping of the largest visitor attractions in the UK, and members include The British Museum, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Westminster Abbey and the Eden Project.

Ms Fabiani said: "I'm delighted that ALVA accepted Historic Scotland's invitation to hold its council meeting in the fantastic surroundings of Edinburgh Castle. It's great to see such a significant gathering of representatives from the UK's top attractions."

The dinner will take place on May 14, ahead of the ALVA council meeting on May 15.

It would have been nice to see at least one Scottish member of ALVA being mentioned here, or are they all so parochial as to only be members of ASVA?
