MILLIONAIRE businessman Sir Tom Farmer has called on both the council and the Scottish Government to help create a museum for Leith.
As revealed in the Evening News last week the Hibs owner and famous Leither has been announced as the Leith Museum Campaign's patron.

And now Sir Tom has urged those in power to make the project, which is due to come back in front of Holyrood's pe
titions committee in the summer, happen.

In a passionate letter Sir Tom said: "I am delighted to give my support to the campaign to establish a museum for Leith.

"The history of Leith is also central to the history of Edinburgh and of Scotland, and deserves a home where its story can be told.

"As someone who has benefited from being born and brought up in Leith, I welcome the widespread support for the current campaign.

"I hope that local and national government will work with the local community to make the dream of a Leith museum a reality."

The campaign has already enjoyed the support of large sections of local people, as well as politicians and community leaders.

The city council, the Scottish Museums Council and Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian have also backed the bid.

Customs House has been earmarked as a possible venue.

Maybe someone could find a Scottish Cup winners medal from a Hubz player, that would be a rare piece in any Leef museum.

#3, Booby - ...or a picture of Easter Road as the only SPL stadium in Edinburgh. In a couple of years the other one will all be flats.
