A BID to build a new cattery at the Scottish SPCA Lothian Animal Welfare Centre has been given the final seal of approval.
Councillors have granted permission for the scheme, which will see a brick extension built at the Mansfield Farm site in Balerno to replace its cattery.

The extension is part of a £250,000 revamp at the animal centre, that will eventually see the facility double in size.

Under the revamp, the centre's exotic animals facility will also improve.
