INDIE band Dirty Pretty Things – who play Edinburgh's Picture House on Sunday – have announced they are to split.
The band said it was "with sadness" they announced the end of their career together.

Fronted by Carl Barat, the band formed after the break-up of his former group The Libertines – where he played alongside Pete Doherty – and are best known for the hit Bang, Bang, You're Dead.

In a statement, released on Wednesday, they said: "It's been a glorious three years which we all would gladly live out again, but it is time for us to try new things.

"We are reluctant to give up touring, but will give the last waltz everything we have, and are determined to go out as we came in.
