A COMMUNITY yesterday became the first in the UK to switch over completely to digital television when 25,000 households in Whitehaven and the surrounding area in Cumbria had all analogue channels switched off at 3:27am.
This completes the process begun on 17 October, when analogue BBC 2 came off air.

The next area to switch will be Scottish Borders in November 2008.
