CULTURE secretary Linda Fabiani tried out some of the steps to a brand new Scottish country dance in Edinburgh today.
She was announcing a Scottish theme for this year's Festival Interceltique in France, the world's biggest Celtic festival.

Scottish music, dance, food and drink will be a focal point of the festival, which attracts more than 700,000 visitors to Lorient, Brittany.

Ms Fabiani, who will visit the festival in August, said today: "Scotland has strong links with Brittany - we are proud of our ancient and common Celtic heritage, which continues to flourish and provide entertainment and enjoyment to many."

VisitScotland worked with the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society to choreograph the new dance, which will be performed for the first time at Lorient 2007.
