SCOTTISH Conservatives yesterday sought to step up the pressure on justice secretary Kenny MacAskill, outlining seven measures on courts, sentencing and prisons they claim he must act on.
But there was no mention of a predicted no-confidence motion. A spokesman for the justice secretary dismissed the Tory move.

I reckon Gray Goldie and Scott should never play poker - they always blink first.

Gives the minor parties something to do I suppose.

MacAskill has to go.

The fact that Mr Salmond thinks he is doing a good job tells us that our Alex is driven by ideology more than common sense.

The SNPs Gordon Wilsoon was on to these two guys 25 years ago.

Hysterical, that the useless, corrupt, handwringing opposition at Holyrood actually think they have a say in who the SNP chooses to fill their posts.

They are nothing but a bunch of foaming at the mouth, Westminster puppets, who would run a mile at the suggestion of an election. Governed by their london masters, they remain nothing but a hectoring, policy free bunch of greedy scumbags.

There only function seems to be to make the SNP look even better.

And the usual hysterical @rselicking by the cybergnats continues. Time to give it up guys, we all know that as soon as a story that's critical of the current scottish gov gets out, you all get your orders, and flood the source with posts or phone calls trying to rubbish it!

Its hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic?

The Mr Magoo lookalike of the Scots Tory Party would find it very difficult to burst a paper bag!

It would be interesting if the Scotsman had published the 7 points.

Why didn't it?

Is it because there is no substance to the, either the Scotsman or the Tory, "measures"?

Or, indeed, are the Tory "measures" already works in process?

MacAskill is a thousand times better than anything Labour could offer, as Cathy Jamieson so (un)ably demonstrated.

Can someone please point out to the tories just how insignificant they are in terms of Scottish politics please ?

#11 Insignificant in terms of numbers perhaps, but extreemly significant in terms of financial contributions. Without the right Scotland would soon be bankrupt, a fact which even fat eck can't ignore.

Without the right what?

Unfortunately for Tory members of the Justice Committee, there will be no headlines to justify their pompous position?

The BBC has recently reported that the AWOL 'Hawk' has just meekly given himself up to the Polis at Kinross where it seems he had been visiting his family!
