I HAVE never been fond of Mr Enric Miralles’s architecture for the Scottish Parliament building. This Caledonian Casa Poporului looks, in my view, like a Surrealist car park, which is an altogether more interesting proposition than its actual function, which is to make the assembled cooncillors, party hacks and accidental politicians feel important as they go about the business of not doing very much at all.

I agree that the Scottish Parliament building looks like a Caledonian Casa Poporului and a Surrealist car park. I cringe at the sight of the beast. I had hoped this sort of architecture had passed from the public sector forever both here and abroad. It's like its trying to hard to be contemporary and it just it just looks like a huge mistake. Hee hee, I bet that one makes Prince Charles sleepless at night as he is all for balanced and beautiful building. As for Salmond's halo that is being held up by a wee pair of horns you canna see in the current glare focused on him. Maybe you should change the name from Holyrood to Salmonds' Temple?
