A TEENAGER who sued her local council over bullying claims but then dropped the case has been handed a £1,000 legal bill.
Natalie King, 19, had been locked in a long running £100,000 legal battle with Aberdeen City Council, claiming she was bullied for years at school. The council ran up a £90,000 legal bill during the five-year battle.

Well the legal profession is part of the Scottish economy so why worry, it was only your taxes that paid the bill. What is even more exciting, she got all the blame. She cost the Scottish people ninety thousand quid in costs. What a load of crap, have a look at how Scottish lawyers make their money now a days and try and make a serious effort to bring them back to a standard that was a serious part of the Scottish establishment.

So who benefits to the tune of £90K? - the lawyers.

The score here would seem to be: Council Tax Payers in Aberdeen: -£89,000, silly girl who lodged case and then dropped it: -£1,000. Legal Counsel: +£90,000.

To nothing of the opportunity cost of the wasted time. What a wonderful world.

This silly little girl should be made to pay back every penny to the tax payers of Aberdeen along with all the legal aid she was granted. the people at the legal aid board should also be called into question for granting aid for such a case

#6 - I am Scottish. Not sure what this bearing has upon my ability to read and to rationalise for myself.

I'm (ex) English and, like the vast majoity of my Scottish friends and neighbours I have the ability to come to my own conclusions on a given subject ... and I reckon this girl should pay back the full amount, because, again like my Scottish friends and neighbours, I don't want to pay any more poll tax than I have to. especially when £99,000 is going to fund someones idea of a get rich quick scheme.
Finally Lisa, your comments are bordering on racist and you should concentrate on being part of the solution, not, as you appear to be at present, part of the problem.
