Pakistan joins Rushdie protest

PAKISTANI politicians passed a government-backed resolution demanding Britain withdraw the knighthood awarded to author Salman Rushdie.
They condemned the honour as "an insult to the religious sentiments of Muslims".

Iran yesterday also condemned the knighthood for Rushdie.
