FORMER Bay City Rollers manager Tam Paton has been released on bail over drugs charges, for health reasons.
Paton, 70, had been held over allegations he was dealing class C substances after police arrested him in an Edinburgh car park on Friday, September 20.
He was originally denied bail but was released today under standard conditions after a private appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
His solicitor, Frank Moore, said the decision was based on Paton's health. Paton has suffered two heart attacks and a stroke in recent years.
The pensioner, who ran the Bay City Rollers during their rise to fame in the 1970s, faces 12 charges under the misuse of drugs act.
It is claimed Paton was in possession of herbal cannabis and cannabis resin.
He also faces charges of attempting to supply the class C drugs and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
