Five arrested as the Olympic torch journey reaches Japan

CHINESE students clashed with pro-Tibet protesters and Japanese nationalists during today's leg of the Olympic torch relay in the Japanese city of Nagano.
Four Chinese supporters were injured and five men were arrested, said police.

Eggs and a flare were thrown at the flame as two demonstrators tried to seize the torch.

Another man was wrestled to the ground after running into the relay path holding a Tibetan flag and shouting: "Free Tibet".

More than 3000 police were mobilised for the relay, which comes a day after Beijing announced it would hold talks with representatives of the Dalai Lama, the exiled Buddhist leader of Tibet.

The tracksuit-clad Chinese security officers were not involved, with Japanese riot police in running gear surrounding the athletes instead.

In a last-minute change, the relay began in a car park rather than a 1400-year-old Buddhist temple after protests from the religious community.

II wouldn't say the decision not to use the temple as the starting point was "last minute". We knew about it last week, before the temple was vandalised. Of course we don't want to think Buddhists would be so callous as to mar an ancient temple and cultural heritage site.

Finnking - even one ID is too many for some people. But at least she has toned down a little.

Horrible Cankers has toned it down due to the fact that she has lost all credibility with her foul mouthed comments, especially the ones about the Beijing diner. She made sure she posted it at every article that mentioned China, and had it removed by whoever. Everybody clearly could see what a person we are dealing with in her, and I think the wind has been taken out of her sails. Using multiple ID's only showed us that she is a coward, and had nothing good to contribute to anything. She's been found out and seems to be licking her wounds, but having seen hsr comments for the past 6 weeks, I imagine that she will try a comeback fairly soon, but we are all on to her, and she won't get far next time either. Good riddance is all I can say.

These, by the way, were also the wonderful people involved in the Rape of Nanking and other world war II delights. I guess you westerners don't get to hear much about that, seeing as how you were so busy with your own holocaust. Or maybe you just didn't care because China was deemed PNG after the Communists won. See, there are OUR bad guys and then there are YOUR bad guys.

The reason why I keep this particular troll, Horrible Cankers, fed, is because she is doing our cause a whole lot of good, by discrediting all of her previous arguments she had with us. At the same time she is also discrediting all her so called friend's statements, for they all jumped on the bandwagon together, and backed up each other by trying to run us into the ground. The old saying, "give somebody enough rope and they'll hang themselves", definitely applies to Horrible Cankers, and the noose is tightening around her neck everytime she leaves one of those foul comments. You can see her previous pals distancing themselves from her, for she is indeed an embarrassment to herself and her so called friends. She's digging a nice big grave for herself and it won't be long before she falls in it and covers herself up.

Biker, Guga ll and Galactic Cannibal, are you still wanting to back up Horrible Cankers or have you finally realized that you're not so good at picking your friends? There's enough rope to hang all of you, the choice is yours.

I think over there in Scotland they have bigger fish to fry, they have probably tried to deal with the likes of Horrible Cankers, and realize that it is too expensive to institutionalize her, and she is a good smokescreen to cover all the other problems. I have no idea as to what their laws allow as far as racism goes, but obviously whatever law there is, nobody is trying to enforce it, China is after all hated by some, maybe by many, in the west, so they will leave her alone. As long as she is at home and not playing in traffic, the old rule of "out of sight, out of mind" applies.

Unfortunately the press caught a picture of the pro-China protester doing this flying Gung Fu kick at an anti-China protester.
Oh, and a man tried to set himself on fire - those crazy Koreans.
Be ready for a whole different "I hate China" angle within hours.

As far as talking to my mother goes, I'm afraid you missed the boat on that one, as she passed away in September of last year, as did my father.

I also have no problem with the Chinese authorities, they're probably too busy with running this country and more than likely aren't aware of my existance. You see, we have total freedom here, and are left alone to live a peaceful and quiet life.

The Chinese do keep a low profile in other countries, for they respect their host countries, and are there to benefit those countries. But like you said, when you poke a dragon, you get the fire. Turning the other cheek will get you nowhere, and people will try to walk all over you. Eventhough I don't condone violence, I realize that sometimes people get pushed too far and need to fight back, but until I see the full report, I don't know if that's the case here. Sometimes mob mentality takes over, and people react without giving it any thought, and these situations are extremely dangerous and need to be controlled, much like as to what happened in Tibet, before it becomes infectious and people get killed.
I will be happy when the Olympica are over and done with, and we can go back to building a brighter future for this great country called China.

Forgot to say that when the relay started there was a roar of approval from the crowds, how the city hall plaza had been turned into a sea of red flags as our people showed the world that they can't get away with their lying carp any longer.

I share and feel your frustration, but I will keep commenting here to defend my country, and the likes of Horrible Cankers will just have to put up with me, just like everybody has to put up with the likes of her. I happened upon this paper and its comment section around the time we had trouble here in China with regards to Tibet, and couldn't believe some of the ignorant comments I was reading, therefore I chose to leave my own comments, but the likes of Horrible Cankers insist on hijacking every story and turn it into their own show. I strongly feel the need to defend my country, so I will stick around to defend it. Horrible Cankers has a bad habit of leaving her filthy and foul mouthed comments on every story about China, and it's obvious that she has few if any friends. It's absolutely amazing that the Scotsman even allows her to post here, have they no pride? or laws governing that kind of filthy and foul mouthed language?

Thank you for confirming what I have suspected for awhile. They know that they're skating on thin ice and are on the verge of having the plug pulled on them once and for all.
