Bikers call on drivers to rev up protests

BIKERS who clogged up Edinburgh's streets on Saturday in protest at the price of fuel have called for more motorists to do the same and warned of bigger, better protests ahead.
Hundreds of bikers from all over Scotland joined a go-slow protest from Kinross, across the Forth Road Bridge and through to the Capital.

Organisers the Fife Bikers group estimates more than 350 bikes joined the procession which converged on the city.

Spokesman Stephen Forsyth said: "We are just ordinary people who are fed up with the increasing price of fuel. We were trying to highlight the point that it is not just truckers suffering, it is your everyday man on the street who is having to cope with these costs.

"We're trying to get something else organised, something much bigger. It will involve bikes and probably car drivers too."

I wholeheartedly support this and so should anyone with any brains in their head at all.

When they organise a demo, I'll be there and I expect every other motorist who can spare the time to be there as well.

I side with the bikers and yes there is a lot more that should be done i did see you all pass but also the labour body gaurds were there also in force the boys in green with there bmw's making sure you did not go to slow the rites are taken away now and we dont have the rite too stop or hold up traffic or protest completely. Well if this carries on then the goverment will get there wish to price all working class of the road and have the roads all too themselves which incedently i think they are tring to do. What we need is the country to come to a standstill one out all out and cripple the big boy into surrender when they dont get the cash flow regular then they will soon change there mind, we have to hit them where it hurts in this case there Purse

I completely support the proposed 2p petrol tax rise and believe it should be more.

I've read all the arguments, stagflation, knock-on effects on the rest of the economy, effects on newly emerging developing countries, people struggling with bills.

I support higher petrol / diesel prices.

These morons clog up the streets everyday anyway. Walk, get a bus or get a pushbike. Lazy gits.
